In July 2016, Indrawattie Rooplall’s husband, brother and one of her sons were murdered after they left on a fishing trip in Mibicuri Creek, Black Bush Polder. She sought assistance from the general public as she struggled to send her two children to school. On the 20th November 2018, SVN extended a helping hand in donating $50,000, a laptop computer, a desk, a printer, stationery supplies, and internet access. This was made possible through the funds received by the students of Saraswati Vidya Niketan.
